CHRIST IS RISEN!

Joy of all who sorrow art Thou, and protector of the oppressed, feeder of the hungry, consolation of travelers,
haven for the tempest-tossed, visitation of the sick, protection and aid of the infirm, staff of old age,
O all-pure Mother of the most high God. Haste Thou, we pray Thee, to save Thy servants

Beloved Brothers and Sisters! We heartily greet you!

Over two thousand years ago the Nativity star heralded the coming into the world of the Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ. The Nativity star led a great many people to the Lord: the poor shepherds and fishermen, the wise men and great powerful kings. The light of Christ enlightens all!

And today, The Nativity star rises again and again, calling again and again to come and fall down before Christ. The Nativity star rises today where we live. In the very heart of Georgia, near Atlanta, a majestic church of the Mother of God, the Church of All Who Sorrow, is rising to the sky. As the Nativity star, the temple – this place of special presence of God and His Blessed Mother encourages all of us – great and small, laboring and heavy-laden, suffering and crying, hungry and thirsty after righteousness, sick and disabled, calls to draw nigh, to come under its gracious cover and consolation.

The temple is being built by the parish with the people's money. No one, neither state nor church organizations help us. Parish clergy and parishioners are all working hard not only to support their families but also to bring some of their best to God and His Most Holy Mother.

The architecture and decoration of the temple is done according to the age-old traditions of the Russian Orthodox Church. Our new church is the only one in the entire southeastern United States built in Russian style. This is a unique construction in the area from Texas to the Atlantic, from Virginia to Florida!

We are now finishing the walls, roof and exterior design of the new church. Soon, with God’s will we shall proceed to the interior walls and ceilings, installation of services - electrical wiring, air conditioning and others. Then the task before us will be the construction of the dome and cross, altar and iconostasis, painting the church and many others.

Dear brothers and sisters! We urge you to join our people’s construction!

First of all, bring your prayers to our church; come to worship and partake the divine mysteries!

Second, bring your material donations - we need money, we need professionals who can donate their time, we need building materials.

Participation in the life of the Church, donation to its needs – is participation in the life of God, is donation to the Lord Himself! Please remember, it is necessary for you! This is the foundation of your own Salvation! This is the path that leads to the eternal life in union with God. The other alternative is death eternal, impenetrable darkness.

Drawn by the Nativity star the Magi brought gifts to the Lord – gold as a gift to the King of the World, incense as a prayer before the High Priest and Head of the Church, and myrrh, a fragrant burial balm, to the God-man as someone, who awaits a painful death. But after the life, the ministry, and the death followed the triumph of the Resurrection - Pascha!

Let us follow the Magi, dear brothers and sisters, bringing our gifts to the Lord, our prayers, our life and death, so that, partaking of His life and death, we would have joined and His resurrection!
